Full Cable Corners

10 XP when a coach verifies it

What it is

Corners can either be your best friend or your worst nightmare. Learn how to take corners the easy way and save yourself from some slams!

How to do it

  1. Start your cut for the corner nice and early
  2. Get wide before the corner
  3. Keep your eye on the upcoming corner as you approach
  4. Just before the corner, begin to turn, so you are riding in the direction you will be going
  5. When the carrier goes through the corner get low and bring the handle in to your hips

Common problems

  • I am getting a massive speed boost around the corner. Make sure to get out really early and start your turn a little bit before the corner so you are coming back in to the cable
  • I get lots of slack when I go round the corner. This means that you are not wide enough when the carrier goes around the corner, get out wide early and then come in.
  • I cant stop edging on my heels. Go back and practice the toeside and heelside edging slalom exercise to improve your heels to toes movement.

What your coach looks for

Successfully ride through the full cable corners while maintaining control and proper body position. The rider must navigate the cable system corners smoothly for 3 laps without falling, keeping tension in the line and demonstrating stable edging.
