Rail Transfers
50 XP when a coach verifies it
What it is
It's time for your first ever transfer! Are you scared? Transfers are actually super easy as long as you know the right method! Have a look at the tutorial and find out just how easy they are.
How to do it
- Practice lifting the nose on soome shiftys off the kicker before trying the transfer
- Look for the line you need to take from bottom corner to the middle of the kicker
- Have one consistent cut to hit all 3 points
- Just before the kicker release the back hand to keep your board square
- Pop, lift the nose / tail THEN use your hips to rotate the board.
- Land with your weight on top of the rail
- Adjust weight accordingly to get a full pull!
Common problems
- I can't make it on to the top of the rail. Try edging a little later towards the kicker and make sure you are edging all the way to the kicker. An early cut or flattening off early will make it harder to get on to the rail.
- I clip the nose of the board when I transfer. Make sure to drop your back hand to keep your body straight, then pop and then turn. Practice popping & lifting the nose on some shiftys off the kicker to replicate what you are doing on the transfer.
- I slip out when I land on the rail. Remember to do all the work with your legs and hips. If you are pulling on the handle it will create slack and make it difficult to balance when you land!
