Kicker Frontside 180s

35 XP when a coach verifies it

What it is

You guessed it the kicker 180 is next! This trick is really going to help you get used to landing switch from higher heights! In these basic

How to do it

  1. Start with a gentle cut towards the kicker
  2. Keep the board straight when going up the kicker
  3. Bring the handle across to your back hip
  4. As you come down to land, drop your back hand and keep your shoulders over your toes
  5. Bend your knees and ride away

Common problems

  • I'm finding it difficult to land switch. Make sure to spend some time practicing switch riding and ollie 180's to really dial in your switch riding. Also make sure to land with equal weight and keep your shoulders over your toes.
  • I slip over my heels when I try the toeside frontside 180. Remember stay low and don't over correct with your chest before hitting the kicker. Keep your weight directly on top of the board for a nice controlled pop.

Tracking your progress on this skill arrives with goals (task 2.6).
